The hotspot I connect to is no longer working. What can I do?

You have been happily connecting to a hotspot for months, laughing at Facebook posts and tweeting your thoughts then suddenly – nothing! Ikeja doesn’t even appear when you search for wifi 😩

There could be a number of reasons why this has happened:

  1. The hotspot you connect to has lost its power supply (kind of like loadshedding💀).
  2. The Prime user who was supplying the hotspot connection has not renewed their ikeja contract and has deactivated our services, eish.
  3. The Prime user who was supplying the hotspot connection has moved and we have had to relocate the equipment. People move, it happens😔.

Whatever the scenario, please contact the hotspot whatsapp support line on 066 472 1628 and with your help we can work to figure out what the issue is. The team will ask for 1, 2, 3 or all of the following pieces of information:

  • Your hotspot User ID (found at the bottom of the ikeja login page)
  • A photograph of the last voucher you were able to load
  • Your device’s MAC address
What is a MAC address?

A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique, alphanumeric hardware identifier for a device that connects to the internet. It is displayed in this format: 00:00:00:00:00:00

But don’t worry, our customer support team will guide you through providing them with your MAC address, should they need it.

If we cannot solve the issue remotely we will then have to send out a team to check out what the problem could be with the hotspot👷.
